Dipali Tikam

Meet Ms. Dipali Tikam. She is among the few people who can stand in the Tribhangi posture without any effort. Her body is naturally suited for the Odissi dance form. You can witness that when you see her dance.

She was a student in the Sane Guruji Arogya Mandir School, where Guru Smt. Jhelum Paranjape identified her talent and asked her to join Smitalay. She is also among the several lucky souls who could learn Odissi under the attention of the Great Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra in his famed summer workshops.

Dipali teaches the younger students at Smitalay in  Santacruz.

She has performed widely all over India along with Guru Smt. Jhelum Paranjape and the Smitalay troupe in all of Smitalay's productions. If you happen to be watching any of Smitalay's productions, be sure to check her out.

Some of her other notable performances include -

  • - Mumbai Festival, held by Nalanda Dance Research Center, Juhu and supported by central Sangeet Natak Akademi.
  • - Youth Festival of the South Central Zone at Bhopal.

She is also the recipient of the Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Award.
